ecosostenibilità igo

One of the greatest challenges for an industrial concern is to attain an appropriate balance between production requirements and environmental protection.

Eco-sustainability is not just a question of standards: it represents a challenge for our planet’s future. It is important to reduce energy waste and pollutant emissions, increase the efficiency of manufacturing processes, and use biocompatible, or, if this is not possible, recyclable materials.

Accepting one’s responsibilities with respect to the environment is also an approach that is rewarded by market success: today’s consumers are increasingly sensitive and attentive to companies and their products, and they actively search for virtuous, sustainable manufacturers in which they can place their trust.

For these reasons, sustainability is an essential pillar for IGO, a company that has always invested in research and development to improve the quality of its products, and at the same time, their eco-sustainability, showing that these two aspects can (and should) be interlocked, in order to provide its customers with biocides and air fresheners that correspond to market demand.

The principal focus of research is on materials, by means of which, over the years, we have been able to implement many solutions, making it possible to reduce our environmental impact and manufacture increasingly eco-sustainable third-party biocides and air fresheners.

Filters, sachets and other components can be made in 100% cellulose, in compliance with PEFC and FSC® certifications, namely the Programme of Endorsement for Forest Certification and the Forest Stewardship Council.

More specifically, FSC certification guarantees the traceability of materials from certified forests, demonstrating the contribution made to responsible forest management in a precise, transparent and verified way; PEFC certification guarantees that the timber-based raw materials for paper and wood products are sourced from sustainably-managed forests.

A preference for natural materials is also applied to the fragrances used for entomological traps, utilising vegetable oils that attract insects naturally.

Wherever it is impossible to use natural materials, IGO selects compostable or recycled options.

In fact, plastic components can be made using 100% recycled plastic polymers, minimising both the emissions connected to the production of new materials, and those linked to the elimination of waste.

Our commitment to research and development has also enabled us to develop bioplastics, using wholly compostable polymers at both domestic and industrial level, as guaranteed by OK compost INDUSTRIAL certification.

The possibility of using compostable substances also extends to our films, which can be made using an innovative, transparent material that is certified as compostable both for domestic and industrial disposal by BPI, Biodegradable Products Institute.

Since 1990, IGO has been responsibly manufacturing third-party air fresheners and pesticides with careful attention dedicated to its clients, manufacturing quality products that are safe for final consumers and the environment.
